We have left Kristiansand after being there for a month (wow, that went by fast!) and having no luck with jobs (tried pretty much everywhere in downtown). We are hoping a bigger city will have more job opportunities for English speakers and that we won't run out of money quite so fast. We arrived in Copenhagen on Wednesday, and from what we have seen so far... it is awesome!! I'll keep you all posted on our progress... I'm now using the internet in a lobby of a hotel... best wishes.

Hello - first time reader here :-) Found you through Corinne's blog, and just had to comment on the choice of Kristiansand - I can totally understand why you're now in Copenhagen! Wish I'd found you earlier so I could have given you a little advice on where to go. Bigger cities is a better bet in Norway when you don't speak the language, and places like Oslo, Bergen and Stavanger are used to foreigners (and thus more likely to hire them - although it's not easy to get a job without the language) - in Stavanger I've in the past couple of years been waited on/served drinks by people who only speak English. Major change from when I first came back (from Port Angeles/Sequim, WA) in 1998. Looking forward to reading more about your European adventure! I wish I had the ability to just pick up and go - I'm too much of a "what if" person though.
So have you left Norway for good?- Have you tried looking for jobs teaching English? When I lived in Germany years ago, that was our best bet.... hang in there... keep us posted!
